The Real Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments hewn in stone
They were given to Moses alone
When he brought them to the crowds
They were acting like they were bawds

So he threw the words that God wrote down
He smashed them mightily on the ground
He then returned again to the top
This time to get them to the people he would not stop

God again wrote them on the tablets
The words he gave stuck there like magnets
But are these the words that Christians are told
That was written on these tablets bold

No, they are not the words  Christians are told
The ones that say love thy God so bold
The ones that we know as the 10 commandments
Were never written on those stone tablets

What were the words that were written then
A different set of  commandments ten
The words we know are from Exodus twenty
But in Exodus 24 you will see them plenty

What did the tablets have on them written
That Christians can follow them and fit in
These are the ones that Pastors don’t want you to see
They picked the ones they want you to be

What were they, these infamous ten
Let us write them out for you to ken
This then is what you should see
What god really wanted you to be

1) Thou should worship no other god
2) That shalt make no molten gods
3) Keep the feast of unleavened bread
4) The first born ox or sheep is mine but you can exchange the ass for a lamb
5) Work six days but on the seventh you shall rest
6) Thou shall observe the feast of weeks
7) Thrice a year men should appear before me
8) Do not use leaven when sacrificing to me
9) The first of the fruits of the land belong to me
10) Thou shall not seethe a kid in its mothers milk

That ten they are the ones in stone
The other ten are just words alone
They were not recorded on the tablets plenty
The others are from Exodus twenty

So when you read the bible so
There really are things  you should know
That you should read it for yourself
Instead of being told what’s on another’s shelf

You will find out why the atheist
Fell from being a believing theist
Because they have done the research
When they made the choice to search

Take not any word that here is written
Read the book with which you are smitten
Then you can to make your choice
You can speak with truth in your voice

I do this not to make you disbelieve
But your truth you can yourself cleave
I am not here to proselytise
It is up to you to open your eyes

The words we are sometimes taught
Use not the ones that others thought
Then you can make choices true
Then you know that belief is for you
